Alana Navarro is a senior at Matilda Torres High school in Region 8. This is her 4th year in FCCLA; she had previously served as the Region 8 president and secretary. She has competed in Child Development and Leadership, placing 1st at the state level. Alana has also been a part of her high school softball and volleyball team the past 4 years, a CSF member, part of link crew and ASB. In her free time, she likes reading, making crafts, baking and spending time with her loved ones. Her dream is to attend a four year college and pursue a career in the education system.
Keira Griffin is a Senior at Tokay High School in Region 6. This is her 3rd year in FCCLA; she has previously served as the 2023-2024 Region 6 Treasurer. She has competed in Focus on Children and National Programs in Action, getting first place in both competitions. Outside of FCCLA she loves to read, watch TV with her family, bake, and travel. Keira is also an active CSF member and is also a member of the Child Centered Careers and Occupational Opportunities Academy at her high school. She wishes to attend a 4-year university, and become a Pediatric Nurse.
Nicole is a senior at Rowland High School. She has previously served as the Region 9 Secretary and various positions at the chapter level. This is her 6th year in FCCLA, and she has previously competed in Interior Design, Event Management, and Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation. In her free time, she loves to bake, dance, play video games, and spend time with her friends. Outside of FCCLA, Nicole is involved in the International Baccalaureate program, serves on her school’s executive board for ASB, plays on the badminton team, serves as the Key Club President, and is involved in theater. In the future, she would like to study psychology and theater in college.
Julisa Salazar is a senior at Tokay High School in Lodi Region 6, this will be her 3rd year as an active member of FCCLA, previously serving as Region 6 Historian. Her talent was recognized with the 2024 Region Scrapbook award. She's excelled in competitions, earning 2nd place in Focus on Children Level 2 and 1st place in National Programs Level 3. Julisa volunteers at the Montessori preschool and two local elementary schools, and enjoys working with children at the WOW museum in her hometown, also active in CSF, C3O2, and the Vocabulary Club. During free time, Julisa loves spending time with her childhood dog Betty who she loves so much, and making memories with family and best friend. Julisa plans to pursue a career in criminal or forensic psychology after college, aspiring to make a positive impact and help others. Her goal as a State Officer is to inspire others that leadership is achievable.
Ruby Marentes-Cabrera, is a senior at Matilda Torres High School. She has held various positions, including Region 8 Reporter and Chapter Vice-President, and has competed in events such as Child Development. Ruby's career aspirations include becoming a middle school teacher or radiologist nurse, where she can make a positive impact on the lives of children. In addition to her academic pursuits, she enjoys staying active through fitness, expressing her creativity through painting, and spending quality time with friends and family. With her dedication, compassion, and drive, Ruby is well on her way to achieving her goals and making a difference in her community.
Kathryn (Katie) Takata is a senior at Torrance High School and is serving as California State Reporter. This is her 3rd year in FCCLA, where she has previously served as the Region 9 Reporter, Chapter President, and Chapter President-Elect. She competed in Event Management Level 2, winning 1st Place at State. Katie is also Yearbook Editor-In-Chief and part of various community service organizations, including Tartar Ladies, Girl Scouts, CSF, and National Honor Society. Additionally, Katie earned a Girl Scouts Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouts. She organized a sewing event to create environmentally sustainable dresses for underprivileged girls in Malawi, Africa. To her, being a State Officer means leading by example and advocating for family consumer science education. In her free time, Katie loves listening to music, creating content, playing basketball, dancing, and going to KPOP concerts. Katie aspires to go to college and major in communications or business marketing in the future.
