Karla Cahue is a senior at Tokay High school. With a strong passion for FCCLA/FCS she has been an active member for three years demonstrating a deep commitment to personal growth and community service.In addition she has competed at the Region, State and National level in her STAR event of Professional Presentation and Focus on Children. Karla is a dedicated tennis and badminton player at her high school, showcasing her athletic skills both in school competitions and during her leisure time. Along with her sport interests, she enjoys crocheting and enjoys volunteering her time helping her community. Karla dares to dream of leaving a lasting impact as a leader, inspiring others by her example, and pursuing a career as an architect after high school.
Alana Mercado is a senior at Merced High school. This will be her third year in FCCLA, second year serving as an officer, and has competed in Say Yes to FCS. She has previously completed the Child development and Health and Family Living courses at her school and is working towards completing the Careers in Education course. Some interesting facts about Alana is that she enjoys helping her community and has received over 400 community service hours, she loves sports and has participated in her schools Tennis and Softball team, and she also enjoys being a part of her school's ASB program. She dreams of being an elementary school teacher and later advance into a High school FCS educator and become an FCCLA advisor!
Gabriela Chacon is a Senior at East Union High School. This will be her second year in FCCLA and her first time serving as secretary at the region level. Gabriela’s goal as an FCCLA officer is to develop leadership skills and to be a helping hand to others who are in need. She enjoys writing poetry, reading. And practicing her penmanship skills. Gabriela Dreams of becoming 3 things in life, an Architect, Cafe shop owner, and a Farmer, through FCS she believes anything is possible.
Ericka Tapia is a junior at Tokay High school. This will be her second year in FCCLA and first year serving as an officer. She plans to continue her journey and dreams to improve on her public speaking skills, as she has always been a shy person growing up. Ericka likes to draw, paint, and try new ways to be creative. She loves helping and can’t wait to help others dare to dream.
Nayelli Nigoa Gonzalez is a senior attending East Union High School and has been in FCCLA for three years going into her fourth year. An interesting fact about Nayelli is that She is a creative person that loves crafts, her specialty is crocheting. This year Nayelli is Daring to Dream and stepping out of her comfort zone to take the leadership role of a Region Officer to overcome her fear of public speaking.
Hailie Thornton is a Senior at Merced High School.She has been in FCCLA for three years now, she has completed the Child Development and Health and Family Living courses, and will be finishing her senior year in Careers In education. Hailie has served at the Chapter level (President) and looks forward to being on a Region Officer team. She has competed at Region, State, and National levels. In the STAR events “Professional Presentation” and “Teach or train”. Placing first in Region and State for both events. Hailie is daring to dream of being a purposeful leader and one day ending up in the supreme court. She dreams of her name being mentioned in future history books, and philosophies. Making an impact on our lives today which will soon become history.
Mrs. Crowell has been teaching Family and Consumer Science for 13 years at Tokay High School. She has been involved with FCCLA for 17+ years. She is married with two children ages 6 and 3. An interesting fact about Mrs. Crowell, she was a Region Secretary in High School for FHA-HERO, an experience that sparked her lifelong passion for leadership and education. Mrs. Crowell is daring to dream of creating a comprehensive FCS program at Tokay High School, where students can gain practical skills and knowledge to prepare them for their future.
