Region 6

Julie is a junior at Linden High School and has been an active FCCLA member for three years. Originally, she joined FCCLA so she could make food with her friends. However, FCCLA gave her an outlet to pursue her desire for growth in leadership. Her current goal as a regional officer is to encourage membership and teamwork throughout the entire region. When she’s not in an FCCLA or ASB leadership meeting, she enjoys spending her free time running, watching anime, and shopping for new clothes in order to pursue her passion for fashion. She is looking forward to a great year for region six!

Yoanna is a senior at El Capitan High School and has actively been involved in FCCLA for 3 years. When she walked into her fi rst-ever fall meeting her sophomore year, she was inspired to one day run for region office. FCCLA has not only helped her build meaningful relationships but also helped her grow outside of her comfort zone. As a region officer, her goal is to make a difference, encourage others, and help create a positive experience for her region. Outside of FCCLA, Yoanna enjoys being a journalist, spending time with friends, dancing, taking college classes, and participating in other clubs. A few fun facts about Yoanna are that she's the oldest child, is a wrestler, and loves Taco Bell!

Crystal is a Junior at Turlock High School who became involved with FCCLA through her Foods class. She is grateful for the opportunities FCCLA has provided, including meeting new people and developing leadership skills. Now in her third year, Crystal enjoys planning, creating new projects, and spending time with friends. She takes pride in organizing chapter events and working on activities. She looks forward to creating lasting memories with her chapter and is excited to serve as a Region officer, where she hopes to make a positive impact. Crystal has participated in STAR events and hopes to inspire greater involvement among her peers by sharing her experiences. She is dedicated to serving her community through NJROTC, volunteering at local events, and actively promotes personal growth through continuous learning and self-improvement.

Bernice is a sophomore at Linden High School and a proud member of the Linden High School Chapter. She is in her second year of FCCLA. She chose to become a Region Officer because she wanted to meet new people, step outside of her comfort zone, and experience a new environment while making a positive impact on others. Bernice enjoys building connections, learning from new experiences, and representing her chapter with enthusiasm. A few fun facts about Bernice are that she competes in three sports and lives with four autoimmune diseases, which have taught her resilience, determination, and perseverance.

Valeria is a Junior at Sierra High School. This is her third year being involved in FCCLA. Her goal as a Region officer is to welcome more members and to get them involved in FCCLA competitions. Outside of FCCLA, Valeria enjoys sewing, crafting, and playing instruments such as Piano and Guitar. Valeria competed in Fashion Construction Level 2 and placed 1st at the State Leadership Conference. She is very grateful to be a Region 6 officer, and is very excited for the year to come.

Jimena is a senior at El Capitan High School and has been actively involved in FCCLA for 3 years. She was inspired to become a Region Officer after seeing the positive impact that previous region officers made in her school and community. Her goal as a region officer is to continue developing her leadership skills while making a difference in the lives of others. Outside of FCCLA, Jimena serves as Secretary of the Hispanos Unidos Club and is also a member of her school’s Public Safety Club. Jimena hopes to become a fi rst grade teacher in the future to continue leading and inspiring generations to come.

Mrs. Dal Porto, better known to her students as Mrs. D, has been a dedicated FCS teacher for 20 years and a proud FCCLA adviser for 17 years. A Linden High School alumna, Mrs. D’s FCCLA journey has come full circle. During her time as a student, she proudly served as a Chapter, Region, and State Officer. Today, she continues that legacy by serving as Advisor, supporting members as they develop their leadership skills and make FCCLA memories of their own. When she isn’t teaching or working with FCCLA, Mrs. Dal Porto loves to travel, especially to two of her favorite places—Carmel and Disneyland. She enjoys traveling with her husband, who is also a familiar face at FCCLA events and generously volunteers his time to support Mrs. D, her students, and the organization .For Mrs. D, FCCLA is more than an organization—it has been a part of her life since she was a student at Linden High, and she is proud to continue giving back to an organization that helped shape the leader and educator she is today. Fun Fact: Mrs. D is the proud aunt of eight nieces and nephews!
